Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team and drive excellence on the road. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), including flatbed trucks, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs at designated locations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to identify any maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Secure loads properly, especially when handling flatbed deliveries, to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including hours of service regulations and licensing standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery driver responsibilities involving flatbed trucks
- Strong knowledge of road safety laws and regulations governing commercial vehicle operation
- Experience with delivery routes and logistics planning in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and handle minor maintenance issues when necessary
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings or weekends as needed
