Care is Central is seeking a motivated and compassionate Housekeeping Assistant who has a keen eye for detail to join our growing team of Housekeepers in Leighton Buzzard. We are looking for one full time Housekeeping Assistant 40 hours per week
Our modern 63-bed residential care home is built to Passivhaus standards, offering an energy-efficient, sustainable environment where we deliver excellent care in a beautiful care home environment.
You’ll join a supportive, hands-on team with a full training programme.

What the role entails:
Maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic, and odour-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff, following all housekeeping procedures and ensuring compliance with strict infection control policies. This includes:
- Completing housekeeping, laundry, and documentation accurately
- Follow COSHH regulations and maintain up-to-date training
- Clean all areas to high standards in line with the housekeeping manual
- Safely manage spillages and use cleaning equipment (training provided)
- Use cleaning products as instructed
- Secure cleaning equipment and chemicals at all times
- Use safety signage when required
- Report faults and remove unsafe equipment
- Follow safeguarding policies and Duty of Candour
Requirements:
Experience is helpful but not essential—values, attitude and a willingness to learn matter most.
You must:
- Be eligible to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Have good English communication skills
- Be caring, positive, and team-oriented
- Complete an Enhanced DBS check (paid by us)
