OCU Energy is looking for an experienced High Voltage Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of client high voltage electrical systems.
The role will provide operational and technical leadership across HV assets, ensuring systems are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, quality and compliance.
You will lead a team of HV technicians and engineers, develop maintenance strategies, manage operational performance and work closely with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable delivery across HV infrastructure

Lead and manage a team of HV technicians and engineers, providing technical direction, coaching, development and performance management.
- Oversee the safe and effective operation, maintenance and performance of client-owned high voltage systems and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement planned preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to maximise asset reliability, availability and operational performance.
- Ensure all HV operations and maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, company procedures and client requirements.
- Monitor asset performance and operational KPIs, analysing data to identify risks, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage O&M budgets, resources, contractors and operational costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and delivery of operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, performance and compliance records and provide regular operational and management reporting.
Drive continuous improvement across HV operations and maintenance, including improving processes, reducing operational risk and supporting the development of technical competence across the team
- Minimum 5 years' experience within high voltage operations and maintenance.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership or management position.
- Strong technical understanding of HV electrical systems, equipment and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of HV safety requirements, legislation and industry standards.
- Proven experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies.
- Experience managing technical teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational and performance data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and compliance requirements.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant operational or maintenance systems.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related discipline.
- Experience within utilities, energy, transmission, distribution or wider infrastructure environments.
- Experience managing client-facing O&M contracts.
- Experience with high voltage substations and associated infrastructure.
- Experience managing O&M budgets and commercial performance.
- Relevant HV operational or authorised person experience.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement programmes.
