iSQ Recruitment are supporting an established UK manufacturer with their search for an experienced
Mechanical Machine Builder to join their engineering team in Norwich.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based role building, assembling and testing
bespoke machinery and equipment from engineering drawings, taking projects from individual components through to completed machines ready for delivery.

The Role - Mechanical Machine Builder
- Build and assemble bespoke machinery and equipment from mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work from individual components through to complete machine builds, ensuring accurate assembly and alignment.
- Test, commission and prepare completed machinery for delivery.
- Service, rebuild and fault-find machinery within the workshop.
- Use a range of hand and power tools to complete mechanical assembly work to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate build documentation and support continuous improvement across the workshop.
- Assist with training colleagues and share knowledge and best practice within the engineering team.
About You
- Apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 2+ in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ideally 2+ years' experience in machine building, mechanical assembly or mechanical fitting.
- Hands-on experience assembling machinery from mechanical engineering drawings.
- Strong practical skills with hand and power tools.
- Able to work accurately to specification, with strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
- Experience with pneumatic systems, bearings, shafts, drives or other mechanical machinery components would be advantageous.
