Overview
We are seeking a Stock Control Assistant to join our team in Corby. This role is responsible for maintaining stock integrity and ensuring accurate inventory management on behalf of our customers. Acting as the primary point of contact for stock related enquiries, you will play a key role in investigating discrepancies, managing inventory records, and supporting operational excellence across the site.
Working closely with Operations, Customer Service, Transport and customers, you will help ensure stock accuracy, timely issue resolution, and the highest levels of customer service.
Location: NewCold Corby Distribution Centre, Curver Way, Corby NN17 5XN.
Salary: £30,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience).
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off day shift (06:30 - 18:30).
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for investigating stock discrepancies, resolving inventory issues, and maintaining accurate stock records across a range of customer accounts. You will act as the first point of contact for customer stock enquiries, supporting order allocations, stock transfers, disposals, sample requests, stock blocking and release requests, and other inventory related activities.
You will carry out detailed investigations into lost or misallocated stock using warehouse management systems and available tracking tools, while liaising with operational teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Regular stock checks and warehouse based investigations will form part of the role to ensure inventory accuracy and effective resolution of issues.
The role will also involve producing and maintaining stock reports, tracking trends in discrepancies and non-conformances, supporting audit activities, and ensuring that all stock adjustments, compliance checks, and customer specific requirements are managed accurately and efficiently.
Working collaboratively across departments, you will help maintain stock integrity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Requirements
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a stock control, inventory management, warehouse administration, logistics or supply chain environment. Experience investigating stock discrepancies, analysing inventory data, and managing customer queries would be highly advantageous.
You should have strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential.
You will be a proactive and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach. The successful candidate will be comfortable working both in an office environment and within the warehouse when required to support stock investigations and inventory checks.
The role will involve warehouse based activity, including entering freezer environments and supporting stock investigations, which may include accompanying MHE operations within the warehouse.
Experience of warehouse management systems, stock auditing, inventory reconciliation, and operational reporting would be beneficial.
