Do you have experience working with families and children ? We are expanding our team of part time child contact supervisors in East Sussex.
With six child contact centres in the South East we are expanding our team to meet increasing demand for family time in the area.
As a Child Contact Supervisor, you’ll play a crucial role in facilitating safe and supportive family time between children and their non-resident parents or significant others. You’ll oversee these sessions ensuring that the environment remains positive and safe for the children.
A child contact centre offers a welcoming space for children to nurture or re-establish contact with a parent or their significant others. The children we work with may be living with a parent, an extended family member or foster carers.
Applicants must be able to cover some sessions at a weekend each week, when needed, not necessarily Saturday and Sunday but ideally also have availability at other times during the week. These are flexible bank roles ideal for someone looking for flexibility but with good regular weekly availability. It can fit well around semi retirement or other part time work.
This is an employed role under a zero hour contract and we cannot guarantee minimum weekly hours as the role is demand driven by family needs, so some sessions are weekly, other less frequent, however we are very busy.
The key is to be flexible, willing to travel to where contact is needed, as this can be in the community, not just in our centres and have regularly available days. We work as a team so candidates must be willing to accept more shifts when colleagues are on annual leave and at peak times.
Candidates must be prepared to work in both in Eastbourne and Hastings Child Contact Centres as well as the Sussex community. Therefore being a car owner is essential. In addition you will be required to undertake child transport to and from contact sessions, so will need to obtain business use for your car once employed. Travel time and mileage is paid but not for working in the closest child contact centre to your home.
Report writing is required so you must own a computer with MS word and have excellent written and spoken English.
You would need to obtain and pay for an enhanced DBS if successful in the recruitment process if you do not currently have one for the child workforce dated within 3 years.
