Summary
Are you passionate about food safety, quality, and maintaining the highest standards? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Quality Assurance Technician (QA) to join our technical team and play a key role in ensuring product compliance, food safety, and quality standards are consistently achieved across our production areas.
Reporting to the Technical Managers / Compliance Manager, you’ll provide hands-on support within production, carrying out inspections, verification activities, and real-time quality assessments. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to contribute directly to product quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Carry out food safety and quality inspections, checks, validations, and verification activities across production areas.
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to Production teams, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and GMP standards.
- Conduct swabbing, sampling, visual assessments, and other verification activities, escalating any issues promptly.
- Investigate and support corrective actions relating to food safety, quality, or process concerns.
- Support foreign body investigations and use a risk-based approach to resolve issues effectively.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, records, and computer-based logs.
- Assist with audits, HACCP activities, allergen control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Hygiene, Engineering, and NPD teams to drive standards and improve performance.
- Use SAP/Core systems to support traceability, stock management, and product compliance activities.
Qualifications
- Experienced within a food manufacturing environment, ideally high-care or high-risk.
- Knowledgeable in food safety, HACCP, GMP, and quality verification processes.
- Confident working hands-on within production environments.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A strong communicator who can engage professionally with teams across the business.
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
