About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Children's Residential Home team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people while supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive, achieve positive outcomes, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective operation of the children's home.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver outstanding care.
- Ensure safeguarding practices are followed at all times and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Assist with staff supervision, performance management, and training.
- Support care planning, risk assessments, and placement planning.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of care in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, and external professionals.
- Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
- Promote positive behaviour support and encourage children to engage in education, hobbies, and community activities.
- Participate in the on-call rota where required.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
- Experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager role.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and inspections.
