CNC Machine Setter / Operator

Salary: £33,092.09 basic salary + shift premium (£41,298.92 including shift premium), depending on experience and skill level
Shift: Rotating 2-week shift pattern
About the Role
We are working in partnership with Watson-Marlow to recruit a CNC Machine Setter / Operator to join their Machine Shop team in Falmouth.
Watson-Marlow is a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing company specialising in the production of pumps and fluid management equipment. Their products are used across industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water and manufacturing, with products supplied to customers around the world.
Your Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machinery to produce components to the required quality and specification.
- Work closely with the production team to meet targets and deadlines.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
- Support machine maintenance and preventative maintenance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and working practices.
- Support Health & Safety and 5S activities within the Machine Shop.
- Follow and develop Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist with problem solving and root cause investigations.
- Work alongside Team Leaders and Technicians to develop your skills.
- Support and mentor apprentices and less experienced operators where required.
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong CNC machining background who is confident setting and operating CNC machinery.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
- A relevant engineering qualification or suitable practical experience.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- A willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a 2-week rotating shift pattern:
Week 1 – Early Shift
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00am–2:15pm
- Friday: 6:00am–1:00pm
Week 2 – Late Shift
- Monday–Wednesday: 2:00pm–12:00am
- Thursday: 2:00pm–11:30pm
