Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Cleaner to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring high standards of hygiene are upheld. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a smooth-running kitchen operation. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
- Organising storage areas for ingredients and supplies
- Supporting the culinary team with general duties to facilitate smooth service
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Managing waste disposal and recycling in accordance with environmental policies
- Restocking supplies and ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout shifts
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work
- Flexibility to adapt to busy service periods and varied tasks
- Basic understanding of health & safety regulations within a kitchen setting
Working hours:
Minimum 10 hours a week, potentially could be more but to be confirmed.
For the start, it would be Friday and Saturday (To be confirmed).
