More than a traditional day centre, Heritage Lounge offers elegant daytime experiences that combine comfort, companionship, gentle support, and thoughtfully curated activities that promote wellbeing and independence. Designed as a luxury alternative to conventional day centres, we provide a welcoming, refined, lounge-style environment where older adults can socialise, learn, relax, and thrive.
Open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, our guests enjoy a varied programme of engaging activities including arts and crafts, mindfulness sessions, live music, wellness initiatives, social events, and much more.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and creative Activity Facilitator to join our team and play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for our attendees.
About the Role
The Activity Facilitator will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering a varied programme of meaningful activities that enhance the wellbeing, independence, and quality of life of older adults attending Heritage Lounge.
This is a hands-on role that combines activity delivery, creativity, relationship building, and staff support. You will lead both group and one-to-one sessions, encourage participation, develop new ideas, and help create an environment where every attendee feels valued, included, and engaged.
You will also support and train colleagues to confidently facilitate activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, physical wellbeing, and enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Planning, Preparation & Delivery
- Plan, organise, and lead daily activities for attendees.
- Deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, independence, and social inclusion.
- Encourage participation while adapting activities to meet individual needs, abilities, and preferences.
- Ensure all activities are meaningful, engaging, enjoyable, and person-centred.
- Prepare activity plans, materials, equipment, and resources to a high standard.
- Research and introduce new activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive wellbeing.
- Monitor attendance, participation, and feedback to continuously enhance the activity programme.
Staff Training & Support
- Support colleagues to confidently facilitate activities within Heritage Lounge.
- Provide practical coaching and guidance on engaging older adults in meaningful activities.
- Promote understanding of activity-based wellbeing and person-centred engagement.
- Develop activity resources and guidance materials that can be used independently by the wider team.
- Foster a culture where meaningful engagement is everyone's responsibility.
General Responsibilities
- Promote dignity, independence, choice, and inclusion at all times.
- Build positive relationships with attendees, families, volunteers, and community partners.
- Ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate activity records, participation data, and outcome monitoring.
- Support seasonal events, celebrations, and community engagement initiatives throughout the year.
About You

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in caregiving, elder care, community engagement, or a similar role.
- Experience facilitating activities with adults in a care or wellbeing setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A caring, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
