Job Title: Car Park Team Leader
Reporting to: Car Park Manager
Department: Commercial
Hours of Work: Average 42 hours per week
Primarily 12-hour night shifts (4 on, 4 off), including weekends, with occasional 12-hour day shifts as required (providing shift cover for absences due to sickness, annual leave, or other operational requirements).
Job Purpose:
Ensure the efficient running of all car park operations within the budgetary constraints whilst maintaining exceptional customer service and high operational standards at all times.
Ensure all car park staff are developed and motivated enabling them to operate effectively in accordance with Company Policy and Procedure.
Supervisory Duties & Responsibilities:-
- Ensure that all aspects of the daily car park operation/checklist are carried out ensuring that it remains safe for public use and to report any issues to the Car Park Manager.
- Contribute to the financial success of the car parks through effective use of resources and the continual review of operational procedures e.g. accounting and checking all transactions, liaising with finance etc.
- Ensure all relevant information is communicated using appropriate methods to team members to keep them up-to-date with Company Policy and Procedures.
- Ensure all Car Park staff are fully trained in all aspects of their role and that accurate records are kept.
- Ensure all customer complaints/refunds are dealt with in a consistent and professional manner and liaise with the Car Park Manager when necessary.
- Liaise with management on car park issues and attend meetings when required.
- Assist with departmental resilience planning and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment with risk assessments, safe working procedures etc.
- Maintain our annual parking database, ensuring all users receive timely updates for their renewals and addressing user queries as needed.
- Contribute to the successful planning, coordination, and execution of projects to support departmental goals.
- Ensure good management of shift rotas, manning levels and overtime costs within budgetary constraints and to oversee the planning and allocation of annual leave and work rotas in co-ordination with the Car Park Manager.
Other Duties (Car Park Operative):
1. To maintain a high professional standard of customer services at all times, including customer queries, jump starting vehicles, providing directions, securing vehicles, etc.
2. To staff, operate the car park equipment and drive company vehicles, including mini buses (Cat D licence) and undertake all duties in the car park, after full training, to ensure the efficient operation of the business.
3. Ensure all cash handled is conducted in an efficient and secure manner and register any cash received i.e. (cash, cheques, credit transfers) onto the car park recording system.
4. To maintain excellent housekeeping practices within the offices and car park areas such as litter collection.
5. Liaising with BIA Control Centre/airport Police e.g. regarding, reporting of incidents, accidents, theft, conditions of road surfaces, etc, which may require recording for audit trail purposes.
6. To conduct car park audits as per the Car Park auditing programme, including daily inspection of company vehicles.
7. Assist processing customer pre-bookings and respond to any queries in an efficient and timely manner.

General Duties
- Respond to any emergency appropriately, and participate in any Emergency Exercise, as detailed in the Emergency Orders within the aerodrome manual.
