Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Waking Night Care Assistant to provide support and care to residents during overnight hours. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of individuals in a care home. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance during the night.
Duties
- Monitor residents' conditions throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Respond promptly to call bells and emergency situations with professionalism and compassion
- Assist residents with personal care tasks if required, respecting their dignity and privacy
- Follow individualised care plans accurately to meet each resident’s specific needs
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activities and any incidents that occur
- Support residents in maintaining a comfortable environment, including adjusting lighting and temperature as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals regarding residents’ wellbeing
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and secure during your shift
Requirements
- Must have working care experience
- Have an NVQ level 2 in health & social care or a care certificate
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills to update records and follow digital care plans accurately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans precisely
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic during night shifts
- Flexibility to work overnight hours on a shift pattern that may include weekends and bank holidays as required
This position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to providing high-quality care during the night hours.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
