As a Buying Assistant, you will support the buying teams in ensuring the customer comes first. You will work closely with stores, suppliers, buyers and wider teams to ensure completion of work in a timely manner.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide clear and consistent service to Trading teams
Work with and coach various stakeholders to improve the quality of information being shared and transferred
Update various stakeholders (eg bulletins to store teams) in a clear, concise and appropriate manner
Consistent and robust retention of required documentation relating to our commitments and agreements with Suppliers in accordance with
Groceries Supply Code of Practice.
Accurate production of information enabling efficient entry into systems
Creation and maintenance of documentation relating to buying and
products – new products, promotions, retail price, cost price, range changes, samples etc
Provide resolutions to invoice queries in a timely and effective manner
Key role in elements of income generation following accurate and robust information from Buyers and Suppliers through promotions and deals.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
The ability to understand the requirements of a Buying function and respond to this appropriately
Awareness of legal & regulatory requirements relating to Trading
Commercial & financial understanding – so that they understand the impact of the information they are providing or given; and therefore can challenge or escalate as appropriate

The ability to support an environment where everyone feels valued and listened to
Attention to detail leading to accurate data delivery, so that they are able to load trading systems
Planning and organising to enable efficient & effective support to the team(s)

Experience
Systems expertise ensuring speed of use and accuracy
Proven ability to deliver to deadlines demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to delivering the plan
