Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced proactive and dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team! Someone who has worked in a similar role for min of 2 years. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Your energetic approach will help keep our grounds in top condition, supporting a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and the community. Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and turf care to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Operate power tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, hedge cutters, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools for planting, edging, digging, and general grounds upkeep with precision and care.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds and equipment to identify repairs or maintenance needs
- Operate heavy machinery like excavators when required for larger landscaping or construction projects
- Assist with construction or renovation projects related to outdoor spaces, ensuring safety protocols are followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening with a strong understanding of horticulture principles
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain power tools and small machinery
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and gardening equipment
- Familiarity with operating excavators or other construction machinery is a plus
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair techniques
- Previous construction experience or involvement in outdoor project work is desirable
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: £25,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
