We are expanding our team and seeking experienced, reliable, and committed tutors to support learners across the Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham, and wider Essex area. This is a face to face role, online tutors are not considered.
We deliver high‑quality, personalised tuition to students in mainstream and SEN settings, both at home and in the community.
Available Roles
We are currently recruiting for:
1. SEN Tutor (All subjects considered)
Supporting learners with:
- Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and communication needs
- Anxiety, dysregulation, and difficulties with transitions
- Below age‑related expectations or gaps in learning
You will deliver structured, differentiated sessions that build confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement.
2. GCSE Maths Tutor
Supporting students working towards GCSE Foundation or Higher.
You must have strong subject knowledge and experience delivering clear, structured explanations.
3. GCSE Science Tutor
Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialists welcome.
Ability to support combined science students is highly desirable.
4. GCSE English Tutor
Supporting reading, writing, comprehension, and exam preparation.
Experience with reluctant or anxious learners is beneficial.
Key Duties (all roles)
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, personalised lessons
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
- Use clear, structured approaches to build confidence and progress
- Communicate professionally with parents, schools, and agencies
- Maintain accurate session notes and progress updates
Essential Requirements
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience in your subject area
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience essential for SEN role)
- Strong communication skills and a calm, consistent approach
- Ability to differentiate work and support diverse learning styles
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Relevant subject qualifications (GCSE/A‑Level/Degree depending on role)
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently
Desirable
- Experience with EHCPs, alternative provision, or 1:1 home tuition
- Familiarity with visual supports, structured routines, and low‑arousal approaches
- Confidence supporting students working below age‑related expectations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20.00-£35.00 per hour
