Depot Supervisor – Higham
Working within Homefire Group, an opportunity has arisen for a Depot Supervisor to join our Higham Depot on a Permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Hub Manager, you will ensure legal compliance to vehicle load capacity and security, as well as having hands-on management of the traffic office function to ensure compliance to company data entry and office administration procedures. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills to provide a reliable and friendly service. Candidates will also be responsible for all yard duties.
Key accountabilities for this role:
o Accurate cash handling/balancing against customer accounts
o Accurate daily load confirmation, ensuring amendments are recorded, monies are entered and POD’s are recorded against customer invoices.
o Accurate order processing of Merchants/Cash & Carry invoices.
o Customer service satisfaction with daily reporting of issues relating to deliveries to the Depot/Hub Manager & service delivery team
o Reviewing of loads, via business routing system to ensure expected utilisation.
o Monitoring and ensuring Health & safety compliance.
o Timely and accurate input (GRN) of inbound stock figures.
o Daily face-to-face customer contact serving and assisting Cash and Carry customers.
o Preparation of Stock Reports for use by Depot/Hub Manager for weekly and bi-annual stock taking.
o Daily picking of Prepacked and sundries stock for depot driver deliveries.
o Loading / Unloading of depot vehicles and outside hauliers.
o Ensuring stock rotation within the depot.
o Depot housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
o Carry out daily filing and office administration as required.
o To adapt to the changing expectations of our Customer Base and to embrace and discuss new ideas that will encourage Company stability and growth.
o To be constantly striving to establish and meet the needs of our Customers and to deliver the quality service they deserve.
o Overtime throughout the week and Saturdays ais required at busy times which is payable at a premium rate.
Key skills required for this role:
o Must possess good IT skills and the ability to work within prescribed system processes and across various IT platforms.
o Must have strong administration skills
o Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
o Good organisational and analytical skills.
o Must be a “team player” with the ability to work well under pressure.
o Previous experience in a transport office or similar environment.
o Previous Stock Management experience.
o Counter balance forklift truck licence preferred, although training will be given.
