A J Lowther & Son Ltd are manufacturers and installers of steel framed buildings, cladding & associated works.
We also undertake a significant volume of refurbishment works, to include over-roofs, re-roofs, and gutter re-lining.
Our client base encompasses a broad range of industries, to include Defence, Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Renewable Energy, Utilities, Sports & Leisure and Farming, for both Main Contractors and Private Clients.
We are seeking a hardworking and organised Buyer to lead our purchasing team.
· The role involves:
· Sending out enquiries and obtaining quotations
· Placing orders for materials and services
· Organising workflow through the department
· Liaising with colleagues to ensure that required timings are achieved
· Reviewing our existing supplier base, identifying potential new suppliers and negotiating deals
Essential skills for the role:
· Previous Buying/Purchasing experience
· Confident with strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Highly organised and methodical in your approach.
· Strong mathematical ability.
· Good IT skills, namely MS Outlook & Office.
Desirable:
· Knowledge of the Construction industry
Training will be given, as needed. Opportunity for CPD. Salary will be according to experience and potential.
Job Types: Permanent, full-time, 100% office-based role. Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm.
