Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our bar and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a solid understanding of food and beverage service.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant team, maintain high service standards, and contribute to the overall success of our establishment. The successful candidate must also be confident in running shifts independently in the manager’s absence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all bar staff to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Lead shifts confidently when the manager is off duty.
- Oversee food preparation and ensure full compliance with food safety standards.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff to maintain quality and smooth service.
- Develop and implement creative drink menus, including cocktails and speciality beverages.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
- Ensure the bar area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Train and support new staff members in service procedures, hospitality standards, and food safety practices.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Prepare staff rotas, manage shift coverage, and optimise staffing during busy periods.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and positive customer reviews.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous supervisory experience within a bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary operations is desirable.
- Background in hospitality or restaurant management is advantageous.
- Barista experience and knowledge of serving techniques are beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills, including stock control and staff scheduling.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
