Job Purpose
We are looking for a reliable and organised Stores Person to oversee the day-to-day running of our stores and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, checking, storing and issuing stock, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the stores area is clean, safe and well organised.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive deliveries and check goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
· Inspect incoming stock for quantity, quality and any damage or discrepancies.
· Safely unload, move and store materials and equipment.
· Ensure all stock is correctly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
· Pick and issue materials, tools and equipment to staff as required.
· Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems.
· Carry out regular stock checks and assist with stocktakes.
· Investigate and report stock discrepancies, damaged goods and shortages.
· Prepare items for collection, delivery or internal distribution.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and organised stores/warehouse environment.
· Follow company procedures relating to stock control, security, health and safety.
· Operate warehouse equipment safely, where trained and authorised.
· Assist with the disposal, return or replacement of damaged or obsolete stock.
· Work closely with purchasing, operations and other departments to ensure materials are available when required.
· Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Stores Manager or management team.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
· Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or stock-control environment.
· Good organisational and time-management skills.
· Good attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to keep clear and accurate stock records.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good communication skills.
· A reliable, practical and flexible approach to work.
· Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Desirable:
· Experience using stock-control or warehouse management systems.
· Experience working with glass and PVCu window products.
· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel or similar systems.

Working Conditions
The role will involve regular lifting, carrying, bending and moving of stock and equipment. The Stores Person will be expected to comply with all company health and safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment where required.
Pay: £31,000.00 per year
