We are currently looking for a confident and experienced Fitter - alteration shop assistant to join our busy alteration team at Thistle Alterations, with flexibility to work between our Aberdeen and Inverurie Shops, but mainly Inverurie.
THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL FRONT DESK ROLE- We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience in clothing alterations and repairs, and who can confidently take measurements, pin garments, assist clients with fittings (preferably someone with basic sewing knowledge ) and advises on alteration services.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience on clothing alterations/fittings is essential
Knowledge in pinning garments and taking measurements is essential
Fluent in English
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Fast learner and highly organised
Flexibility to work weekends and alternate between our two shops Aberdeen-Inverurie.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet and assist customers at the front desk
- Take accurate measurements and pin garments for alterations
- Provide basic tailoring advice and support to clients
- Manage bookings and payments
- Answers phones in a professional manner and delegates appropriately
- Prices alternations appropriately
- Keeps front reception and fitting areas clean
- Organizes front desk paperwork (credit cards receipts, receipt books, marketing materials and deposit records)
- Acts as liaison between client and tailor
- Small hand stitching involved and opening seams for tailors
