Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of healthy meals and snacks in accordance with menu plans and dietary guidelines
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and served in a timely manner to accommodate school schedules
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with meal portioning, serving students and staff efficiently and courteously
- Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and communicate needs for procurement
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety standards are met
- Support special dietary requirements or allergy considerations as specified by school policies
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of kitchen safety practices and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills for managing meal prep schedules and inventory control
- Experience serving meals in a school, restaurant, or similar setting is preferred
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and assist students politely
- Familiarity with food safety certifications or training is advantageous
