We are looking for an experienced, organised and motivated Dental Nurse to become the lead nurse for our implant service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mature and capable dental nurse who enjoys working to a high clinical standard and wants to take ownership of an established implant department while remaining part of a friendly, supportive team.
Although your primary responsibility will be our implant service, you will also be expected to assist with general dentistry when required.
About the role
You will work predominantly alongside our principal implant dentist, supporting implant treatment from the initial consultation through to final restoration. You will also assist our two associate implant dentists when required.
This is a key role within the practice, requiring excellent organisation, communication and attention to detail.
Main responsibilities
* Chairside assistance for implant surgery and restorative implant procedures.
* Preparing surgeries for complex implant cases.
* Maintaining implant stock levels and ordering materials in good time.
* Managing all implant equipment and ensuring everything is ready for each clinical session.
* Checking laboratory work on arrival and ensuring cases are complete before patient appointments.
* Liaising with dental laboratories and technicians regarding implant cases.
* Coordinating implant treatment with clinicians, reception and the practice manager.
* Communicating with patients regarding appointments, treatment stages and post-operative care where appropriate.
* Ensuring all implant documentation, consent forms and records are complete.
* Supporting general dentistry sessions when required.
* Helping maintain high standards of infection control and clinical organisation.
The successful candidate will be
* An experienced GDC-registered Dental Nurse.
* Ideally experienced in implant dentistry (although additional training can be provided for the right candidate).
* Calm and confident under pressure.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Able to prioritise multiple tasks without losing focus.
* A strong communicator with patients and colleagues.
* Happy to take responsibility and work independently.
* Flexible, reliable and willing to support the wider practice team.
* Fluent enough in spoken and written English to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
Working pattern
The successful candidate will work primarily with our principal implant dentist and will generally be expected to follow his clinical working days and annual leave.
Some flexibility around holidays can be accommodated during quieter periods but should be agreed in advance to ensure continuity of the implant service.
What we offer
* Competitive salary based on experience.
* A supportive and friendly team environment.
* Ongoing implant training and professional development.
* Opportunity to become the lead implant nurse within a busy referral practice.
* CPD support (where applicable).
* Long-term career progression within an established specialist-led practice.
If you enjoy implant dentistry, take pride in being organised and want to play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care, we would love to hear from you.
