Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the setup and ongoing management of a new Children’s Residential Home in Prestwich, Bury.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in children’s residential care who would like to be involved from the beginning and help establish a high-quality home.
Responsibilities
* Support the home through the Ofsted registration process
* Help prepare the home for opening and its initial Ofsted assessment
* Recruit, develop and manage the residential care team
* Ensure high standards of safeguarding and child-centred care
* Maintain compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
* Manage referrals, placements, risk assessments and care planning
* Build strong relationships with local authorities and other professionals
* Maintain the home to a high standard and work towards a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating
Skills in an ideal candidate
* Previous management experience within a Children’s Residential Home
* Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an appropriate equivalent
* Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations
* Experience with safeguarding and supporting young people with complex needs
* Ideally, previous experience opening or registering a new children’s home with Ofsted
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* Full UK driving licence preferred
We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully managed a Good or Outstanding Ofsted-rated home.
