The Role/Candidate
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an organised and proactive Planner/Scheduler to join our busy Service team at our Head Office in Westhoughton.
This is a key role responsible for coordinating and scheduling engineering resources across customer sites, ensuring work is delivered efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service.
About the Role
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for planning and managing engineers' workloads, responding to customer requests, and supporting the smooth delivery of reactive maintenance and service activities. You will work closely with customers, engineers and sales team to ensure jobs are completed effectively and on time.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and adapt to changing business demands. Previous experience within a reactive maintenance, service coordination, facilities management, or similar environment would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log and manage incoming customer service requests and call-outs.
- Contact customers to arrange and schedule approved and quoted works.
- Liaise with internal Sales and Production teams regarding quotations and job requirements.
- Allocate engineers to jobs and distribute relevant job information and documentation.
- Arrange hire equipment and specialist resources where required.
- Coordinate overnight accommodation and travel arrangements for engineers.
- Process completed job sheets, including pricing parts and preparing invoices.
- Produce quotations and supporting documentation as required.
- Manage and maintain the engineers' out-of-hours call-out rota.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Support the wider Service team with administrative and operational tasks as required.
- Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role and business needs.
Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, service coordination, facilities management, or reactive maintenance environments would be advantageous.
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high levels of service.

Hours/Location/Salary
Location: Westhoughton – Bolton.
Hours of Work: 42.5 per week, 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Negotiable - Dependent upon skills and experience
