Brockhurst & Marlston House Schools is a well-established and highly regarded independent school community committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of its pupils. We are seeking an experienced and professionally qualified Financial Controller to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the Financial Controller will assume responsibility for the full range of financial operations across the schools. This is a varied and hands-on position, ideally suited to a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in an environment that demands both rigour and flexibility. This is a part time role, 52 weeks a year (not just term time only)
Key responsibilities will include:
- Bank reconciliations and the maintenance of financial controls
- Control account and ledger account responsibility
- Sage accounting software management
- Sales ledger processing and credit control
- Payroll administration
- Preparation of management accounts
About You
The successful candidate will hold a recognised professional qualification — ACMA, ACCA, ACA, or AAT — and will be able to demonstrate solid, relevant experience gained within industry or commerce. A methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential attributes for this role.
What We Offer
- A salary commensurate with experience - range: £38,000 - £50,000 per anum (pro rata)
- A part-time working pattern on which we can be entirely flexible. Maximum three days a week.
