About the Job
In this role, you will lead the WorkWell Coaching function, ensuring the smooth day to day delivery of the service and supporting staff to provide a consistent, high quality experience.
There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:
- Lead and manage a dispersed team of Work & Health Coaches based across multiple community locations throughout West Sussex.
- Ensure consistent supervision, performance management and service delivery regardless of location, supporting staff to deliver high quality coaching interventions.
- Oversee referrals, triage, and caseload allocation, ensuring workflows are effectively managed and the team is well-positioned to meet programme objectives.
- Work closely with the WorkWell Service Manager to support the mobilisation and ongoing development of the service, implementing new processes, contributing to continuous improvement and ensuring that the coaching function operates efficiently and consistently across the county.
- Responsible for performance management, staff development and ensuring compliance with programme requirements, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements.
- Ensure high standards of data quality and programme reporting, leading on accurate record‑keeping, MI submissions and audit‑ready processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and partnership working, embedding consistent practice, implementing new processes and building strong relationships with NHS, VCSE and employer partners.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in coaching, employability, health, community services or related field.
- Level 2 English and Maths (C/4 or above).
- Experience of managing or supervising staff in a customer facing or community-based service.
- Proven experience of leading and coordinating dispersed teams across multiple locations, ensuring consistent delivery standards.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and high standards of data quality, including contributing to management information (MI), performance monitoring and programme reporting requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective partnerships with external stakeholders, organisations (e.g. NHS, VCSE, employers).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to influence, negotiate and build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.
- High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and experience of using case management, CRM or other data management systems.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while supporting staff to manage complex, sensitive or challenging situations effectively and appropriately.
