Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Joiner Tape professional to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying tape and finishing work on various building projects, ensuring high-quality standards are met. The position is fully paid and suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and experience in carpentry and finishing trades.
Duties
- Applying joint tape to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as part of the finishing process
- Preparing surfaces by sanding, filling, and priming prior to tape application
- Using hand tools such as trowels, knives, and brushes to ensure smooth finishes
- Operating power tools safely to cut and install tape materials
- Reading schematics and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications
- Assisting with related tasks including plastering, construction painting, or masonry work when required
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborating with team members including roofers, plumbers, electricians, and fabricators on integrated projects
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction-related roles with emphasis on carpentry, plastering, or finishing trades
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, or masonry is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction finishing work
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Experience working with construction materials such as plasterboard, joint compound, and tape products
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in completing high-quality finishes
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Relevant construction certifications or training are desirable but not essential
