Pump Engineer – Join Our Expert Team!
Location: London and South East, with some travel nationally
Job Type: Full-time
Travel Required: Yes – company vehicle provided
Are you an experienced Pump Engineer looking for your next opportunity? We're looking for a skilled and motivated professional to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of pumping equipment across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of foul water, surface water, and sewage pumps
- Fault finding and diagnosis of pump and control panel issues
- Installation and commissioning of new pump stations and pumping systems
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency call-outs
- Servicing and repairing pump control panels, floats, alarms, and associated equipment
- Removing, replacing, and testing pumps and associated pipework
- Conducting site surveys and producing detailed service reports
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Travelling to customer sites across London, the South East, and occasionally nationwide
- Providing excellent customer service while representing the company professionally
Essential Requirements:
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Proven experience working as a Pump Engineer or in a similar mechanical/electrical role
- Experience with sewage, foul water, storm water, and booster pump systems
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of pump control panels, float switches, and alarm systems
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota (where applicable)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desirable:
- City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Mechanical or
Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
- Confined Space and First Aid qualifications
- Experience working within the drainage or wastewater industry
