Labourer – Student Accommodation Refurbishment

Pay: £14.50 per hour CIS

TimesGroup Ltd is a growing Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering refurbishment and construction projects across the UK.
We are looking for reliable and hardworking Labourers to join our team on the first phase of a major student accommodation refurbishment project in Preston.
The overall project consists of the refurbishment of 400+ student apartments, with Phase 1 comprising 80 apartments, programmed for completion by the end of August. Subject to performance and project requirements, there will be an opportunity to continue working on the subsequent phases of the refurbishment, providing long-term continuity of work.
The Role
Working alongside our site management team and other trades, you will be responsible for carrying out soft strip-out works to prepare student apartments for refurbishment.
This is straightforward, repetitive work across multiple apartments, making it ideal for labourers with refurbishment or strip-out experience.
Duties Will Include
- Removing existing furniture from student bedrooms and communal areas.
- Uplifting and disposing of existing carpets and floor coverings.
- Removing vinyl flooring where required.
- Removing existing wall and floor tiles.
- Assisting with the removal of sanitaryware, fixtures and fittings.
- Loading waste into skips and maintaining clean, safe working areas.
- Assisting electricians, plumbers and other trades throughout the refurbishment programme.
- General site labouring duties.
- Working safely and in accordance with site Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous labouring experience is essential.
- Experience working on refurbishment or strip-out projects is preferred.
- Valid CSCS Card (essential).
- Good work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Own PPE.
- Immediate availability.
