Shift Pattern: Night shifts 8:00pm – 8:00am, including alternate weekends

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and caring Senior Carer (Nights) to join our team. As a Senior Carer, you will lead the night care team to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care, dignity, and support throughout the night.
You will be responsible for supervising staff on shift, administering medication, responding to residents’ needs, and ensuring all care is delivered in line with individual care plans and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night care team
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Administer and record medication in line with policies and procedures
- Update and maintain accurate care records
- Conduct regular checks to ensure resident safety and wellbeing
- Respond promptly to call bells and emergencies
- Liaise with management, healthcare professionals, and families where required
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and company policies
- Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hydration
- Promote dignity, privacy, and independence at all times
Requirements
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory care role
- Medication administration training
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good written and verbal English
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to high standards of care
Desirable
- Experience working in residential or nursing home settings
- Knowledge of CQC standards
- First Aid training
