Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our team within a caring environment specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and have a genuine passion for supporting older adults. This role involves supervising care staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. A valid driving licence and experience within a care home setting are essential, along with excellent communication skills and proficiency in IT systems utilised for care management. The Senior Carer will play a vital role in fostering a compassionate atmosphere while overseeing daily operations to enhance residents’ wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of carers, providing guidance and support to ensure quality care delivery
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff
- Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication administration, and emotional support
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medical appointments and ongoing treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems for care records, progress notes, and incident reports
- Support the organisation of activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents
- Oversee the training of new staff members and supervise their integration into the team
- Drive organisational initiatives aimed at continuous improvement in service quality
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment, with supervising or leadership responsibilities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Competence in using IT systems related to care planning and record keeping
- Valid driving licence to facilitate transportation needs when required
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to elderly residents’ needs
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times
- Experience in supervising staff members and fostering a positive team environment
Pay: £12.21-£15.50 per hour
