Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems and components . This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in hydraulic systems to contribute to the smooth operation of our equipment. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system optimisation, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair hydraulic components and systems according to technical specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydraulic equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- manufacture hoses onsite and in the workshop.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and adjustments.
- Diagnose faults within hydraulic systems using appropriate testing methods and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Follow safety protocols strictly during all operations to minimise risk of accidents or injuries.
- Assist in the training of junior staff or apprentices as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a hydraulic fitter or in a similar mechanical role specialising in hydraulics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Experience with power tools relevant to hydraulic system installation and repair.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Hydraulic hose repairs: 3 years (required)
