Butler Rose is working with a well-established and growing manufacturer in the Honiton area to recruit an experienced Production Planning Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven planning professional to take ownership of production planning activities, lead a small team, and play a key role in improving operational performance across the business.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing production planning processes end-to-end, ensuring efficient schedules, strong customer delivery performance, and continuous improvement across planning systems and processes.
Key responsibilities will include:

Translating demand and capacity requirements into achievable production plans

Managing and optimising planning and scheduling systems (MRP / ERP)

Monitoring capacity, identifying bottlenecks, and driving improvements in output

Working closely with production, procurement, and stores teams to ensure alignment

Analysing BOMs to support make vs buy decisions

Supporting cost estimation and quoting through material and labour analysis

Leading, coaching, and developing the production planning team

Driving improvements through KPI tracking and data-led decision making

Ensuring data accuracy across planning systems and processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role within manufacturing

Experience leading or mentoring a team

Strong understanding of capacity planning, demand forecasting, and MRP systems

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

The ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments

A proactive approach with strong organisational skills
