We are an established and growing manufacturing business in the Beverley area looking for an experienced sprayer to bring specialist knowledge and practical expertise into a developing area of our operation.
The role will primarily involve the preparation and spraying of MDF panels, producing high quality finished products in a range of standard, bespoke and customer-specific colours.
We see significant growth potential in finished painted panels and are looking for someone who can bring the spray-finishing experience and know-how needed to help us develop this area of the business.
This is not a general production operative position. We are looking for someone with genuine professional spraying experience who can produce excellent finishes, solve problems, improve processes and share their knowledge with our existing team.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and spraying MDF panels to a consistently high standard
- Working with standard, bespoke and multiple colour requirements
- Setting up and operating spray equipment correctly and efficiently
- Advising on preparation, spraying methods, tooling, equipment and consumables
- Identifying paint and finish defects and implementing practical solutions
- Helping improve quality, consistency, processes and throughput
- Working alongside existing operatives and sharing your knowledge and experience
- Taking responsibility for the cleanliness, organisation and standards of the spray area
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety and safe working practices
We want someone who is confident using their previous experience to make practical recommendations and help us establish the right processes, equipment and ways of working as this area grows.
What We're Looking For
You should have genuine hands-on experience within a professional or industrial spray environment, ideally involving MDF, furniture, joinery, cabinetry, panels or similar products.
You will need:
- Strong practical spray-finishing knowledge
- Experience producing consistent, high-quality painted finishes
- Good knowledge of surface preparation, primers and finishing processes
- Experience working with different colours and finishes
- Knowledge of spray equipment, tooling and consumables
- The ability to identify and resolve common spraying and finish problems
- A strong eye for detail and pride in your work
- A practical can-do attitude
- A willingness to share knowledge and work as part of a team
- Strong housekeeping and health & safety standards
