Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medication safely and accurately according to prescribed schedules and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Support clients with assisted living tasks, including light housekeeping, laundry, and errands like shopping or appointment transportation
- Manage behavior and provide emotional support for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Maintain detailed records of care provided, observations, and any changes in health status
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid and escalate concerns to healthcare professionals when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and behavior management techniques
- Experience working in nursing homes or hospice settings is advantageous
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and senior or hospice care principles
- Valid driving license and ability to drive safely for client appointments or errands
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate attitude towards vulnerable individuals
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks when required
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
