Overview
Uxbridge Music School is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Woodwind Teacher who can teach saxophone, flute and clarinet.
The successful candidate will teach children and adults through engaging one-to-one lessons. Students will range from complete beginners to those preparing for graded examinations.
Locations and working days
- Wednesdays in Hayes
- Saturdays in Uxbridge
- The teacher must be able to travel between our teaching venues when required.
Responsibilities
- Teach saxophone, flute and clarinet to students of different ages and abilities.
- Plan enjoyable, structured and age-appropriate lessons.
- Prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity examinations where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate attendance and lesson notes.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and the school.
- Encourage students and help them develop confidence and musical ability.
Requirements
- Strong playing and teaching ability in saxophone, flute and clarinet.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- A music qualification or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
- Reliable, punctual and confident working with children.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to travel to Hayes and Uxbridge.
- Permission to work in the United Kingdom.
Piano-teaching ability would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
Pay
Starting rate: £32per hour, increasing to £35 per hour once the weekly teaching schedule reaches seven hours.
This is a part-time, self-employed position with the opportunity to build additional teaching hours as student numbers increase.
Pay: £32.00-£35.00 per hour
