Help tenants shape better homes, stronger services and a more inclusive future.
Habinteg is looking for a proactive, organised and people-focused Customer Engagement Officer to help us strengthen how tenants influence the services they receive. This is a temporary-to-permanent, part-time position for 14 hours per week, offering an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of customer engagement, supporting tenants to have their voices heard and helping colleagues embed meaningful involvement across the organisation.
About the role
As Customer Engagement Officer, you will lead and coordinate a wide range of tenant involvement activities, from developing Habinteg’s Customer Engagement Strategy to supporting scrutiny, listening events, tenant conferences, task and finish groups, editorial panels and customer-led improvement work. You will play a key role in ensuring engagement is inclusive, effective, well supported and clearly linked to service improvement.
You will work closely with tenants, colleagues and external partners, providing practical support, producing clear reports, monitoring actions and helping to turn feedback into meaningful change. You will also support consumer standards compliance, analyse performance information and help ensure customer engagement delivers value for money.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and supporting delivery of Habinteg’s Customer Engagement Strategy and action plan.
- Promoting tenant involvement and helping embed customer voice across services.
- Supporting tenant scrutiny, co-regulation, listening events, conferences and representative groups.
- Preparing agendas, minutes, reports, recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Working with colleagues to improve services through customer insight and involvement.
- Managing tenant engagement budgets and ensuring activities deliver value for money.
- Building effective partnerships and keeping up to date with good practice and regulatory requirements.
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong experience of tenant involvement or customer engagement, a good understanding of housing services and regulatory expectations, and the confidence to work with a wide range of people. You’ll be skilled at building relationships, organising activity, analysing information and producing clear, useful written reports.
You will be approachable, resilient and calm under pressure, with a strong commitment to inclusion, respect and dignity. You’ll bring creativity, sound judgement and a customer-focused approach, alongside the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and support tenants to participate with confidence.
Why join Habinteg?
At Habinteg, inclusion is central to who we are and how we work. In this role, you’ll help create genuine opportunities for tenants to influence decisions, improve services and make a lasting difference.
