Responsibilities
- Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues when needed.
- Perform routine garden maintenance including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning plants, and removing weeds.
- Operate equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct minor repairs on gardening equipment and power tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Support animal care activities if applicable, including cleaning enclosures or assisting with outdoor pet areas.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks such as moving soil bags, mulch, or plant containers to support landscaping projects.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools and machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
Requirements
- Prior experience or interest in horticulture or gardening is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key!
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and mechanical understanding of garden equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measuring soil quantities or setting irrigation timers accurately.
- Good animal care awareness if working around outdoor animals or pets.
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment repair or troubleshooting minor issues with machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to garden maintenance tasks.
