Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking to ensure timely delivery of meals that meet quality standards
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly, portioning, and presentation for residents
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
- Serve meals to residents with courtesy and professionalism, ensuring their dietary needs are met
- Help keep the kitchen organized, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and work surfaces regularly
- Follow all safety procedures during food handling and kitchen operations
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen work is preferred; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
- Knowledge and understanding of IDDSI and modified diets
- Experience working in a restaurant or similar setting is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when serving residents
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
