We are looking for an individual who would like the opportunity to gain a recognised childcare qualification and hands on experience in our happy and enthusiastic nursery. We are a private organic, sustainable bilingual speaking nursery located in Roath that look after children from 6 weeks to 5 years old giving them a homely, family atmosphere to learn and play. We are implementing the principles of The Curiosity Approach, bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early years and creating the 'thinkers and doers' of the future.
You will be required to undertake an apprenticeship with a training provider and work your way through the qualification. Future qualified, fully paid positions may be available at the end of this contract. You will have the opportunity to observe qualified staff and assist in the care of our babies. You will learn about Health and Safety procedures and how to contribute to risk assessments. You will be encouraged to plan and set up fun activities for the children and observe their involvement and learning. You will also observe children playing with peers and learn about Child Development, as well as how to manage behaviour positively.
The role involves looking after little ones in a sensible and caring way and also being part of a successful team. We are looking for an individual who is welsh speaking or willing to learn basic Welsh, to join our team on a full time basis. We aim to recruit the best in the business, so you need to be highly motivated and very keen to help with the development of children. We are fully invested in our staff, support and encourage them to learn and grow by providing training and advice.
We are looking for workers who have the following skills:
- Excellent communication skills with children, staff and parents
- Excellent observational skills
- Organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative
