Sky Recruitment Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer for experienced CNC Machinists to join their growing production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled machinists with experience setting and operating CNC turning centres and vertical machining centres. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality precision components while working within a modern manufacturing environment.
The Role:
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for safely setting and operating CNC machinery, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are consistently achieved. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high housekeeping and safety standards throughout your work area.
Training will be provided where required, and there may be occasions where you'll be asked to support other areas of the manufacturing operation to meet business needs.
Shift Pattern
This role may operate on a rotating three-shift pattern:
- Mornings: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Afternoons: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Nights: 10:00pm – 6:00am
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning centres and vertical machining centres.
- Program and operate Mazak turning centres using Mazatrol and Haas CNC control systems.
- Set and operate Mazak 4-axis machine tools.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Consistently achieve production and quality targets.
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Work flexibly across different production areas when required.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years' experience setting and operating CNC machines.
- Strong engineering and machining background.
- Experience with Mazak machinery and CNC programming.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of inspection processes and precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
- A positive, reliable, and proactive approach to work.
