We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and inspirational Nursery Manager to lead our friendly and dedicated team. As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operation of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead and inspire a committed nursery team to deliver outstanding childcare and early years education.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented.
- Maintain full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, health and safety, and safeguarding requirements.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings to support continuous professional development.
- Manage staffing levels and rotas, ensuring legal staff-to-child ratios are maintained.
- Support recruitment, induction, mentoring, and ongoing training for the nursery team.
- Oversee children's learning, development, observations, and assessments to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
- Monitor nursery budgets and resources alongside the Area Manager.
- Ensure accurate record keeping for attendance, accidents, incidents, medication, and safeguarding concerns.
- Promote an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above is desirable).
- At least 2 years' experience in a senior leadership role within an early years setting (Room Leader, Deputy Manager, or Nursery Manager).
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding legislation.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing staff performance, rotas, and operational priorities.
- Passion for delivering high-quality childcare and supporting staff development.
Desirable:
- Current Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Experience leading an Ofsted inspection with a Good or Outstanding outcome.
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive early years provision.
- Experience working in partnership with local agencies and community services.
