Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within care homes or home care settings, ensuring they receive high-quality assistance tailored to their needs. Duties
- Provide personalised care and support to residents or clients, respecting their dignity and independence
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Support individuals in maintaining their personal hygiene and comfort
- Help implement and follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming environment that promotes well-being and safety
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive is preferred for roles involving transportation of clients
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and updating care plans digitally
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen empathetically and respond appropriately
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
