We are seeking a friendly and proactive Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandising, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to attract customers and promote products
- Operate the till efficiently, handling transactions accurately and courteously
- Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
- Restock shelves and organise stock to ensure the shop remains tidy and inviting
- Manage phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Keep accurate records of sales and stock levels for inventory management
- Assist in organising promotional displays and seasonal decorations
- Support team members in achieving daily sales targets and maintaining high standards of customer service
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities, particularly in English and Spanish, are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Good organisational skills to manage stock, merchandising, and daily tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and stock counts
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Phone etiquette to communicate professionally over the telephone
- Upselling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales potential
- Ability to work well within a team while also demonstrating independence when required
