Overview
We are a very busy independant family owned crystal shop in the heart of Glastonbury looking for an energetic, self motivated friendly and confident new team member to join us. This role would suit someone who genuinely takes an interest in people, has a positive attitude to excellent customer service, who thrives in a lively retail environment.An interest in crystals and jewellery, is desired but enthusiasm and willingness to learn is key.
Duties Include
- Welcome customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance regarding our range of crystals, minerals, fossils , gifts and jewellery products, helping them choose items to buy.
- Helping create a welcoming and inviting shop atmosphere taking a genuine interest in individual customers needs.
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure the shop remains well-organised , inviting with a high standard of cleanliness.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the till, keeping stock secure, cashing up, key holding duties
- Manage stock levels through effective organisation and replenishment of products, pricing, weighing and labelling new items following established systems in place.
Qualities we are looking for
*A candidate looking for permanent role in an established business
* 18 hours a week upto 4 days /week in high season
* Chatty , approachable and confident with customers
* Energetic and able to stay focused in a busy environment
* A supportive team player who works well with others and alone
* Comfortable managing the shop floor solo at times
*Creative flair is a bonus
* Retail experience preferred
* Willingness to work weekends essential
Pay and Benefits
*£12.75\hr plus holiday and paid breaks at age 21+
* Higher renumeration considered depending on experience /additional responsibility
*Later starts shorter shifts available
Things to be aware of
* This is an active role and you will be on your feet all day.
* The shop can become very busy at times, with lots happening at once
* Some lifting and use of stairs is required
* There is a large amount of product knowledge to learn over time , you will be supported with training in this
