Main Duties
Prepare and serve afternoon tea. Hours from 1.30pm until 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm-5pm Fridays. You will be required to have a full DBS and 2 satisfactory references and a level 2 food hygiene.
1. To be responsible for keeping the nursery entrance and hallways clean. Vacuuming them on a daily basis and cleaning all surfaces.
2. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the bathroom. Washing the floors, toilets and sinks regularly.
3. Vacuuming the stairs on a daily basis and the landing in between levels.
4. Vacuuming and cleaning the classrooms and office on a daily basis.
5. To empty bins across the nursery as and when necessary.
6. To wash up crockery and cutlery.
7. To ensure washing machine and tumble dryer are used correctly and linen is cleaned and dried in a timely manner.
8. To maintain Safer Food for better Business book when performing afternoon duties in the kitchen.
9. To be able to cover extra morning kitchen duties in the event of the cook being absent or sick
10. To be able to prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children when in the kitchen.
11. To make sure that personal hygiene is adhered to at all times.
12. To complete opening and closing checks in the kitchen.
13. To follow the job description for the cook if covering in the kitchen.
14. Inform management of anything that goes wrong on a daily basis. Report damages, stock shortages and any concerns.
15. Regularly review training, including, but not limited to, Food Hygiene.
16. Follow all nursery policies and procedures keeping up to date with any changes.
17. Follow COSHH procedures for all cleaning materials.
18. Make sure all equipment is stored safely and compliant with current risk assessments and procedures.
19. Ensure all equipment is in good condition and is running smoothly, report any concerns to management.
Current duties would be mainly covering long term sick absence in the kitchen on a morning. Preparing lunch for the children and preparing tea for later in the afternoon. Extra hours may be initially available to cover this. Duties would then revert to afternoon cleaning duties and preparing tea.
