Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Pharmacy Assistant / Shop Assistant to support our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily pharmacy operations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the smooth dispensing of medications. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service at the pharmacy counter
- Manage stock levels, organise shelves, and ensure medication displays are tidy and up-to-date
- Process prescription orders and ensure correct documentation is maintained
- Support with medication administration under supervision where applicable
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with data protection regulations
- Handle customer enquiries, offering guidance on over-the-counter products when appropriate
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy workspace in compliance with health and safety standards
Experience
- Previous pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is advantageous
- Experience in patient care or healthcare support roles will be considered a plus
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for accurate processing of prescriptions and stock management
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
