The Livestock Administrator is responsible for providing accurate and timely administrative support to the livestock operation. The role ensures that animal records, documentation, treatment information, movements, health records and management data are maintained accurately and completed within required timescales.
The role supports the Dairy and Youngstock teams by ensuring information is recorded, processed and available to assist with the effective day-to-day management of livestock.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update calving records and associated livestock information.
- Process animal passports and pedigree documentation.
- Process cow sales, including passports and required information.
- Process livestock movements and submit required movement information.
- Maintain records for cows requiring veterinary attention.
- Maintain treatment records and ensure treatment sheets are accurately completed and recorded.
- Maintain colostrum monitoring records.
- Monitor and check stock levels of required farm and livestock supplies.
- Enter feed tickets and associated information onto the system.
- Process livestock information and records as required to support daily farm operations.
- Input and maintain mobility scoring records.
- File and archive completed paperwork in accordance with company procedures.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure all livestock records are accurate, complete and maintained in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of farm, business and animal records.
- Identify missing, inaccurate or incomplete information and follow up with the relevant manager or member of the livestock team.
- Ensure statutory, assurance and company record-keeping requirements are met.
- Maintain organised filing systems for both electronic and paper records.
- Support managers and operational teams with administrative reports, lists and information as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable administrative duties relevant to the role.
Skills and Experience
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and farm or livestock management systems.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with farm managers and operational teams.
- Previous experience in agriculture, livestock administration or a similar administrative role would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
Pay starts at £28,000 per annum.
The role is Monday - Friday 8.30 - 16.30 with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak.

Working Environment
This role is based on a busy working livestock farm and combines office based administration with regular interaction with the livestock and farm teams.
Applicants should be comfortable working in a rural, agricultural environment and may occasionally need to visit livestock areas. This can involve exposure to typical farm conditions, including varying temperatures, noise, dust, mud and odours.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast paced operational environment.
