Senior Bartender / Server
Social114, New Brighton
Friday and Saturday evenings
We’re launching a new evening service at Social114: a relaxed, intimate wine-bar offer built around interesting wines, good beer and a short menu of generous sharing plates and snacks.
With just 20 seats inside, the service will be personal, informal and lively. We’re looking for an experienced bartender/server who can help lead the front-of-house operation and make the evenings feel welcoming, confident and well organised from the beginning.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Welcoming guests and leading friendly, attentive table service
- Talking confidently about our wines, beers and food
- Making thoughtful recommendations without making the experience feel formal
- Preparing and serving wine, beer and a small selection of simple mixed drinks
- Coordinating with the chef so food reaches tables smoothly
- Helping us refine the drinks list and improve the service as the concept develops
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience in a busy bar, wine bar or independent restaurant
- Is comfortable taking responsibility for an evening service
- Has good wine knowledge, or a genuine interest in developing it
- Is naturally warm, confident and good at reading a table
- Can keep service relaxed for guests while remaining organised behind the scenes
- Works calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Is reliable and available consistently on Friday and Saturday evenings
You don’t need to be a cocktail specialist or have formal wine qualifications. More important is that you understand great hospitality, enjoy talking to people and can help create the atmosphere of a proper neighbourhood wine bar.
Hours and pay
- Friday and Saturday evenings
- Approximately 4:30pm–10:30pm
- Between £13.50 and £14.50 per hour dependent on experience
- Additional daytime or evening shifts may occasionally be available
This is an opportunity to play an important role in launching a new side of an established independent café and help shape how it grows. There will be potential for increasing hours and income once settled.
To apply, please send us a CV and a short introduction telling us about your relevant experience and why the role interests you.
Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
